1. Purpose
This document explains how Cambslist indexes local businesses, how we source business data, how to correct your listing, and how to remove your profile from the directory. For platform terms, please review our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
2. Why Your Business is Listed
If your business appears on Cambslist, your enterprise operates within Cambridgeshire and serves local clients.
- Free Profile: Basic directory listings on Cambslist are free. We do not charge subscription fees or hidden costs for maintaining a standard profile.
- Independent Index: Listing a business does not mean Cambslist owns, manages, or represents that business. Your trademarks, company names, and logos remain your property.
3. How We Source Business Data
We collect business information from authentic public records:
- Your official website and public contact pages;
- Public registers including Companies House, DVSA, RCVS, and FCA;
- Google Business Profiles;
- Established commercial directories including Yell.com.
We do not use fabricated or unverified contact data. We check UK telecom numbering to separate corporate landlines from personal mobile lines.
4. How to Update Your Listing
If your trading address, telephone number, opening hours, or website URL needs updating:
- Email hello@cambslist.co.uk from your business email address.
- Provide your Cambslist listing URL and your updated details.
- We update verified records within 1 calendar week at no charge.
5. Fast-Track Removal Policy (1 Calendar Week Delisting)
If you do not want your business listed on Cambslist, you can request immediate removal.
How to request removal:
- Email hello@cambslist.co.uk with the subject line:
Listing Removal Request - [Business Name]. - Include your business name, trading postcode, and listing link.
- We will delete your listing from the live website within 1 calendar week of receiving your request.
- We add your business to an internal suppression index. This prevents automated tools from re-indexing your business in future updates.
- Removal is completely free of charge.
6. Marketing and Outreach Preferences
We occasionally contact local businesses about directory verification, featured profiles, or local promotion.
- Direct Relevance: We only contact businesses whose services match our regional coverage.
- Immediate Opt-Out: Every outreach email contains an unsubscribe link. You can also reply with “unsubscribe” or “remove”.
- Suppression: Once you opt out, we add your email and domain to our suppression list and stop outreach within 1 calendar week.
- CTPS/TPS Compliance: We check numbers against the Corporate Telephone Preference Service and Telephone Preference Service before making telephone calls.
